Our hazelnut and honey spread, also known as “miel pralin”, or praline honey, has been made for generations in Piedmont, the home of the hazelnut.
This combination of honey and hazelnuts is a real delight, a product with a unique, irresistible flavour!
At the end of winter, hazel trees offer bees their first pollen so they can start doing what they do best. As they fly from one flower to the next, they encourage pollination and so the production of hazelnuts.
These same hazelnuts and the acacia honey, which is produced a bit later on in the season, are the only ingredients of this traditional recipe. The hazelnuts are lightly roasted before they are ground to a paste. Mixed with the honey, this combination creates a deliciously creamy spread.
